A client in the Financial Compliance space manages an extensive feedback program for their products, receiving 100s of feedback items a month and amassing a database containing 30k+ items.

To ensure that ‘feedback duplicates’ are clearly labeled, when a feedback item is submitted, a coordinator must search the feedback database to see if this item has already been submitted.

This workflow proved to be tedious, inefficient, and error prone due to limited search capability: when the coordinator tries to search for feedback similar to an item “Please let us sort banks by state”, it will take numerous search attempts to find items like “province sorting is required for banks” and “we need state sorting functionality.”

Freehold Automation isolated this workflow opportunity with the client, and leveraged an AI language technology called BERT to create a Semantic Search solution, enabling the feedback coordinator to quickly find these semantically similar feedback items with a click of the button.

Thanks to this solution, feedback coordinators enjoy an efficiency increase of 60% on the average time to find a semantically similar items in the feedback database.

Efficient Claims Adjusting

In the world of home insurance claims adjusting, a good deal of time is spent on producing claim estimate reports. An estimate, at its core, is a list of line items that describe repairs and services that must be rendered to the property to make the claimant whole.

Line Items are specially labeled and coded to ensure that the exact repairs and costs required to indemnify the claimant are disbursed by the insurance company for the claim, no more, no less.

An adjuster must study the damages in the claim, photo-by-photo, and match up the exact line-item codes to the damages, which proved to encompass a large chunk of the time needed to produce an estimate.

Freehold Automation identified this specific workflow opportunity with a business partner, and leveraged the latest in computer vision to devise a solution. Our estimation tool directly translates claim damage photos to line items, and inputs them into the adjusters’ estimation software, sparing adjusters the effort of manually searching for them.

Claims Adjusters enjoy an efficiency boost of 35% on their estimation tasks by using our solution to input line-items into their estimate reports.

Enhanced Manufacturing QA

A medical package manufacturing client consulted with us in leveraging AI to enhance their quality assurance and defect detection process for parts.

In the course of our discussion, we identified a problem: it was difficult to instruct workers on how to properly identify defects, especially for new jobs, because there wasn’t a formal system in place to document these defects.

We devised a comprehensive solution that leverages voice commands to enable QA specialists to effectively photograph and label part defects during production runs.

This data is transmitted to an automated documentation system, which leverages numerous AI models to automatically transcribe the defect notes, classify the parts and their defects, and ultimately produce “instructional reports”.

These “instructional reports” enable managers to teach QA specialists how to identify defects for a part run in the future.
